Wiley X WX Gravity Captivate Polarized Green Mirror

Kryptek Neptune camouflage frame, green mirror lens. This is the most elaborate configuration in the Gravity range, and the most visually striking.

The green mirror lens, VLT 12%

Twelve percent transmission - three points less than the smoked version, therefore a noticeably darker lens, for the brightest light conditions.

The mirror finish reflects some of the incident light before it enters the lens: filtering happens in two stages instead of relying entirely on the tint. From the outside, the eyes are not visible.

The green tint absorbs the spectrum uniformly: colors remain correctly perceived despite the darkening.

What Captivate technology offers

Captivate lenses are polarized, but Wiley X doesn't stop there: the brand claims sharper colors and more defined details, in addition to the glare reduction inherent to polarization.

Polarization removes light reflected by flat surfaces - water, car hoods, windows, wet roads - without darkening the rest of the scene. A simply tinted lens, on the other hand, darkens both the reflection and the target in the same proportions.

HEV protection, in addition to UV

Beyond 100% UVA and UVB, these lenses also filter HEV light - the high-energy blue-violet band, located just after ultraviolet in the visible spectrum.

This is a protection that most ballistic glasses do not claim, and it concerns the part of the spectrum to which we are exposed all day, not just in direct sunlight.

The lens and its coating

Unbreakable Selenite polycarbonate, extruded, cut, then thermoformed. The hard T-Shell coating is anti-scratch, anti-glare, and oleophobic.

This last property is rarely mentioned yet very practical: an oleophobic surface repels oils. Fingerprints and sunscreen marks wipe off instead of smudging - which changes everything on a lens you handle with dirty hands.

The frame

Injection-molded reinforced frame and temples made of Triloid nylon, anatomically shaped for prolonged wear. The material makes them both lightweight and very resistant.

Rubber elements at the temple tips reduce fatigue and increase grip.

ANSI Z87.1+ and EN 166 F, grade F for low-energy impact.
