Midland AE 38 Throat Mic G5/G6/G7/G9
A throat microphone hears what the mouth has not yet spoken. It captures vibrations from the larynx, not the air: wind, engine noise, and gunfire do not get through.
How it works
The laryngophone sensor presses against the throat and works by contact. You can therefore speak in a very low voice, in noise or wind, and remain perfectly understandable - two situations where a standard microphone fails completely.
Listening
Reinforced earpiece, mounted on an elastic cord that absorbs movement without pulling out the eartip.
The two buttons
- Main PTT, with a stabilizing clip to attach it where your hand naturally falls
- Secondary PTT, with a fastening strap - to be placed elsewhere, depending on your shooting or working position
The connector
Version with a straight connector, Midland type. Check the jack on your radio before ordering: pinouts are not interchangeable from one brand to another.
The entire set can be worn concealed, under a collar or jacket.
