What the low-cut style offers, and what it costs

It is lighter, it leaves the ankle free in its range of motion, and you can put it on in three seconds. On the downside, it offers no lateral support and does not keep out gravel or water that enters from the top.

It is the right choice for the road, on rolling trails, and for daily use; it is the wrong choice on scree and under heavy loads.

The sole

LOWA X-TRAC Military, cushioned, with Slip Resistance technology specifically aimed at wet and icy surfaces.

It is directly injected and combined with the monowrap construction - a frame that wraps around the foot and provides stabilization, impact protection, and overall rigidity.

The membrane

GORE-TEX: waterproofness, breathability, and moisture wicking.
