LifeSaver
Wayfarer Portable Water Purifier
The Wayfarer is not for drinking from directly; it's a fill-through system: an in-line pump, with an inlet for the source and an outlet for the container. It has a treatment capacity of five thousand liters. Its rotating handle can be operated with either hand, a significant detail when pumping several liters in a row and your arm gets tired. The carbon disc, replaceable every hundred liters, reduces chlorine as well as lead, nickel, and cadmium, according to the manufacturer, in addition to tastes and odors. This is the tool for groups and camp kitchens, while a bottle remains for individual use. Independently tested according to NSF/ANSI P231 standards. The manufacturer claims 99.9999% retention of bacteria, 99.99% of viruses, and 99.99% of cysts.
