Helikon-Tex®
3 L country water filter
Ships within 5 to 8 business days.
This filter uses a principle employed by the British Army during World War II: a tightly packed cotton bag suspended to trap mechanical impurities as water flows through. It holds 3 liters, hangs from a branch by its cord, and the cord has a pin that eliminates the need to tie a knot with cold hands. What this filter does, and what it does not do, should be clear: it removes particles and suspended matter; it does not make water potable. After filtration, the water must still be boiled or chemically treated. Its real purpose is to prevent clogging a fine filter or fouling a cooking pot with sediment-laden water.
Key Features
- 3 liters suspended: filtration happens automatically while you set up camp
- Cord with pin: attaches to a branch without the need to tie a knot
- Pre-filtration, not purification: it traps particles; boiling or purification tablets remain essential
