Titanium EDC: 15 Titanium Items for Everyday Carry
Knife, pocket tool, flashlight, lighter, water bottle, and watch: everyday items made of titanium—lightweight, rustproof, and built to last.
Titanium has become the king of EDC metals, and for good reason: it rivals many steels in strength at about 40% less weight, it doesn't rust, it's non-magnetic, and it's hypoallergenic. Over time, it patinas to a soft gray, without ever oxidizing like copper.
Here is our selection, from knife to water bottle. Most items are in stock at Outpost. For the others, we provide two alternatives available in the shop.

Choosing a titanium item
Grade 2 or Grade 5? Grade 2 is pure titanium, easy to work with, used for bivouac dishes. Grade 5, or 6Al-4V, is an alloy with aluminum and vanadium, significantly harder: it's used for knife handles, levers, and clips.
Finishes. Stonewash (beveled), micro-beaded, anodized, or flame-finished: titanium accepts many treatments. Stonewash is the most practical, as it hides everyday scratches.
What titanium does not do. It makes a mediocre blade: too soft to retain an edge for long. Good titanium knives have a titanium handle and a steel blade, like the Clovis.
Frequently asked questions
- Does titanium rust?
- No. It naturally forms a thin layer of oxide that protects it, making it resistant to water, sweat, and seawater.
- Is titanium lighter than aluminum?
- No, aluminum is lighter. But titanium is much stronger: at equal strength, a titanium part is thinner and lighter than a steel part.
- Can you carry a knife in the city?
- A knife is a Category D weapon: its carrying and transport are prohibited without a legitimate reason, which the police and then the judge will assess. Without a particular reason, it's better to leave it at home.
