Wiley X WX Rogue Comm Smoke / Clear / Rust
Temples thin enough to fit under noise-canceling earcups. This is the raison d'être of the Comm version, and the point where most glasses fail in operational use.
The problem it solves
An ordinary temple fits under the earcup of a noise-canceling headset and breaks its acoustic seal. Two immediate consequences: attenuation drops, and the temple creates a pressure point that becomes painful in less than an hour.
The Comm temples are profiled to fit without breaking the seal - with both passive headsets and active earmuffs.
Three lenses included
Clear for night and indoor use, smoke for full daylight, light rust for intermediate light conditions. They can be interchanged according to time and weather.
A tan frame
A rare color in this range, where black predominates. It matches light and dry outfits without creating a contrasting spot on the face.
The lens and its coating
Unbreakable Selenite polycarbonate, extruded, cut, then hot-formed. The hard coating resists scratches and fogging.
The frame
Reinforced Triloid nylon, injection-molded, anatomically shaped for prolonged wear. Lightweight and very resistant.
Standards declared by the manufacturer
ANSI Z87.1+, MIL-PRF-32432 and EN 166 F.
EN 166 F tests a 6 mm, 0.86 g steel ball at 162 km/h; MIL-PRF-32432 tests a .15 caliber projectile at 702 to 724 km/h.
