What Grade B concretely means

The European standard tests the impact of a 6 mm steel ball launched at 120 m/s, or 432 km/h. Grade B covers medium-energy impact, and it applies to both the frame and the lenses together - not just the lens.

Lower grades in the range are F (45 m/s) and S (increased robustness).

The dual-layer lens

This is the technical innovation of the Spear Dual. Two layers of lens separated by an air gap insulate the inner face from the outer face. The temperature difference between the air next to the face and the outside air is no longer directly transferred to the lens.

Result: condensation no longer has a cold surface to form on. This addresses the problem at its root, where an anti-fog coating only delays the inevitable.

Three lenses included

Clear for night and indoor use, smoked for full daylight, rust for intermediate light conditions and contrast. You change them according to the time of day and the weather.

Helmet-mountable

Compatible with Wiley X's ARC rail system and with the Team Wendy system. This is information that few retailers provide, and it's a deciding factor when you already have an equipped helmet.

Night vision compatible

The geometry allows space for a helmet-mounted night vision device.

Ventilation and seal

Symmetric ventilation system, and removable facial cavity seal that blocks dirt, dust, and peripheral light.
