Vector Optics Paragon 8x42 Monocular
A 42mm lens on a monocular is generous. Most pocket monoculars stop at 25 or 30mm: this one maintains the diameter of a pair of binoculars while eliminating half the bulk.
What the 42mm provides
The exit pupil—42 divided by 8—is 5.25mm. This is what allows the image to remain bright when the light fades, whereas an 8x25 with its 3.1mm starts to darken.
Eight times, with one hand
At 8x, the image does not shake, even when held with one hand. It is the right magnification for an instrument you take out quickly, use for a few seconds, and put away.
Handling
The non-slip surface of the body is what makes a monocular truly usable with one hand—whether wet, gloved, or on the move. It is a detail that changes everything in practice.
The format
Compact and lightweight, built for regular outdoor use. No interpupillary distance to adjust, no two optics to collimate: a monocular is ready the moment you take it out.
The catalog offers the same model as binoculars, under the name Paragon 8x42 Binoculars.
