The LVL 2 is the base layer for truly cold days. Denser than the LVL 1 at 220 g/m², it blends polyester and elastane: it continues to insulate even when damp, and it follows the body instead of restricting it. The zippered stand-up collar acts as a regulator; open it on the ascent and close it when stopped. The thumbholes prevent the sleeves from riding up when putting on or taking off gloves—a detail you only notice when it's missing. The close-to-body fit accelerates moisture wicking.
