Streamlight Sidewinder Military

Four LEDs in a single housing: white, red, infrared, and blue. This is what sets the Sidewinder apart from an ordinary lamp – and the choice of the second color defines the version.

Military or Aviation: only one LED changes

Military (this one): white, red, IR and blue.
Aviation: white, green, IR and blue.

Everything else is identical – same body, same weight, same water resistance, same battery life. Choose according to the color your procedures use.

Why the red LED

Red light allows you to read a map or handle equipment without destroying the eye's adaptation to darkness. White light, even brief, requires twenty to thirty minutes to regain night vision.

The infrared LED

Invisible to the naked eye, it illuminates the scene for anyone wearing a night vision device. It illuminates without being seen – and battery life reaches 200 hours, compared to 5.5 hours for the white LED.

The modes

Each LED operates at 5, 25, 60 or 100% power, plus a strobe mode. Advertised battery life of at least 5.5 hours in white and up to 200 hours in infrared and red.

Construction

Injection-molded impact-resistant polymer housing, knurled surfaces for grip. Multi-layer anti-scratch polycarbonate lens.

IPX7: submersible to 1 meter for 30 minutes, impact resistance to 3 meters.

Power supply

Two AA batteries, alkaline or lithium – the latter performing better in extreme temperatures. A metal cable retains the battery cap to prevent loss.
