The rechargeable battery is therefore not just a convenience: it provides 30% more lumens and 13% more range.

Lumens and candelas: two different things

Lumens measure the total amount of light emitted. Candelas measure its intensity at the center of the beam - this is the value that determines the range.

Two flashlights with the same lumen output can have very different ranges depending on how the beam is focused. This is why both figures are given here.

IP68, the highest level of waterproofing in the lot

IP68 means totally dustproof and prolonged immersion - the manufacturer claims 2 meters of water. Most flashlights in this catalog are IPX7, or 1 meter for 30 minutes.

The housing

CNC machined from a 6000 series aluminum alloy, anodized matte black. Anti-roll head so the flashlight doesn't roll away on an inclined surface. Knurled surface and steel clip.

The TEN-TAP programmer

The TEN-TAP system allows you to choose the sequence of modes triggered by the switch. You can thus go directly to high power, or conversely, disable the strobe if you never use it.

This is the detail that prevents you from going through three useless modes before getting the one you need.
