Streamlight PolyTac X Tactical USB

A polymer body, not aluminum. This is the PolyTac's distinguishing feature, and it has two direct consequences.

What polymer offers

Weight: 123 grams for 138 mm in length, which is 39 g less than a ProTac HL-X of the same length.

Shock resistance: tested to 3 meters drop, compared to 2 meters for aluminum models in the range. The polymer absorbs impact by deforming elastically where metal would dent.

The material is reinforced with nylon fibers and textured for grip.

Performance, depending on power source

High: 600 lm, 205 m, 2.75 h with CR123A or 3.5 h with SL-B26
Medium: 260 lm, 135 m, 5.5 h or 5.75 h
Low: 35 lm, 50 m, 34 h or 36 h
Strobe: 5.5 h or 8 h

It operates with two CR123A batteries or one rechargeable SL-B26 battery.

Thirty-four hours in low power mode

This is the key figure. A 35-lumen mode is more than enough for reading a map, rummaging through a bag, or walking – and it lasts for more than a day and a half continuously.

The TEN-TAP programmer

The TEN-TAP system allows you to choose the sequence of modes triggered by the switch. This way, you can go directly to high power, or conversely, disable the strobe if you never use it.

This detail prevents you from cycling through three unnecessary modes before getting the one you need.

Water resistance

IPX7: waterproof to 1 meter for 30 minutes. Multi-layer anti-scratch treated lens. Removable pocket clip.
