Sightmark Solitude 8x42 XD Binoculars

The XD version of the Solitude 8x42: the same format, with low-dispersion glass for sharper contours.

XD glass

In ordinary glass, the colors of light do not meet at exactly the same point: colored fringes appear on high-contrast edges, such as a branch against the sky. XD (extra-low dispersion) glass corrects this defect and gains sharpness and contrast.

Optics and construction

BaK-4 glass roof prisms, fully multi-coated optics. The rubberized body is filled with nitrogen and sealed with O-rings, waterproof and anti-fog. The eye cups are screw-adjustable. At 8x on 42 mm, the exit pupil reaches 5.25 mm, providing a good reserve of brightness at dawn and dusk.
