Pocket wire saw
Ships within 3 to 5 business days.
A wire saw fits in a shirt pocket and weighs 20 grams: that is its one and only selling point, but it is a decisive one when every gram counts. This one is made of a braided stainless steel cable, finished with two rings that serve as handles. You place it around a branch, pull alternately on each ring, and the braiding cuts into the wood. It also cuts metal, plastic, and ice. It does not replace a bow saw for cutting large amounts of firewood, but it fits anywhere a rigid blade cannot, and it belongs in any survival kit.
Strengths
- 20 grams: a weight that makes it easy to carry at all times, in a pocket or a kit
- Two ring handles: the saw is operated with both hands without any extra accessories
- Wood, metal, plastic, ice: the braided stainless steel cable cuts through materials that a pocket blade cannot
