Working with a knife or axe near your body will sooner or later take its toll on your thigh or knee. This piece of impregnated leather sits between the blade and you, absorbing the slip. Its second use is less obvious but just as useful: the leather can withstand a fire starter, allowing you to light it on a controlled surface and then carry the embers to the hearth. Cordura lining, 118 grams.
