Princeton Tec Byte Tactical
Two LEDs, four modes, two AAA batteries. The Byte Tactical bridges the entire gap between one lumen of red for four days and two hundred lumens at forty meters.
The four modes
- Low red: 1 lm, 1 m range, 96 hours
- High red: 3 lm, 3 m range, 60 hours
- Wide white: 50 lm, 23 m range, 12 hours
- Focused white: 200 lm, 39 m range, 3 h 24
Low white is wide, high white is focused: these are not two intensities of the same beam, they are two different beams. One for walking, the other for identifying.
The red
One lumen carries to one meter. It is exactly what is needed for reading at arm's length without ruining your night vision or that of others - and it lasts for four days.
Controls and adjustment
A single rubberized button on the top. The tilting arm mount adjusts the angle of the beam toward the ground or the horizon.
The body
Impact-resistant, injection-molded polymer. IPX4 rating: splash resistant.
Powered by two AAA batteries, alkaline or lithium.
