Petzl
Petzl WILLIAM Triact-Lock
Three actions to open it, and that's by design. A gate that gives way with a single action can also open on its own against a rock or a sling.
The Triact-Lock system
It takes three distinct movements to unlock the carabiner. This is the compromise chosen by Petzl between security and speed: enough to prevent any accidental opening, while still easy enough to maneuver with one hand.
The pear shape
The large radius on the side opposite the gate leaves room for several elements at once and allows them to orient themselves freely. This is what allows for the proper loading of the devices used in climbing: rope clamps, pulleys, mobile fall arresters.
The construction
Forged and heat-treated aluminum, matte black anodized. The H-profile provides two things at once: a firm grip and greater rigidity for the same amount of material.
