Petzl TOP Chest Harness

A sit harness alone is not a fall-arrest harness. The TOP is the part that completes it, and the resulting certification explicitly states this.

What it transforms

The TOP is an extension module for FALCON and AVAO SIT sit harnesses. When mounted on either one, it forms a full-body harness.

The CE EN 361 certification - the standard for fall-arrest harnesses - is only valid in this combination. This is a manufacturer restriction, not just a safety precaution: the chest harness alone does not fall under this standard.

Comfort

Thick, widely spaced shoulder straps: the spacing prevents them from rubbing against the neck, while the thickness distributes pressure on the shoulders. A flat back section prevents bulk on the back, where a pack or other equipment would rest.

Adjustment

Self-locking DOUBLEBACK buckles for direct adjustment: you pull, and it holds. No straps to re-thread.

Materials and standards

Nylon, polyester, aluminum, and steel. One size. Certifications: CE EN 361 (with FALCON and AVAO SIT sit harnesses), UKCA, EAC.

Personal protective equipment. Use requires appropriate training and regular inspection according to the manufacturer's instructions.
