Petzl
Petzl JANE Lanyard 100
A lanyard alone will not arrest a fall. This is the point to understand above all else: the JANE is a connecting element, not a fall-arrest device.
What it combines with
It is combined with a dedicated device, an ABSORBICA for example, to form an energy-absorbing lanyard. The absorber dissipates the energy of the fall; the lanyard, for its part, connects.
Second common use: the installation of temporary anchors - hence the EN 795 type B certification, which is for temporary anchor devices.
The format
100 cm, non-adjustable. A fixed length does not come out of adjustment and cannot inadvertently lengthen under load.
The sheaths
Plastic sheaths reinforce the ends. They hold the connector in position - a carabiner that rotates will load along its minor axis, which reduces its strength - and protect it from abrasion.
The standards
Certifications: CE EN 354, EN 795 type B, UKCA, EAC, ANSI Z359.3, CSA Z259.11.
Personal protective equipment. Its use requires appropriate training and regular inspection according to the manufacturer's instructions.
