Outdoor Research Firemark Sensor Gloves
Nomex on the back, goatskin in the palm. Two materials, two roles: one resists flames, the other resists abrasion.
Flame resistance
The shell is made of 100% Nomex. It is an intrinsically flame-resistant fiber—the property is inherent to the fiber itself, not a treatment that washes away. And it remains lightweight and breathable, which is rare for flame-retardant fabric.
The palm
Water-repellent goatskin on the palm and fingers. Goatskin is the thinnest of glove leathers: this is what allows for tactile sensitivity.
Furthermore, the construction is designed for seamless contact in the grip area—the seam across the palm is what causes the most discomfort during use.
The knuckles
Leather reinforcements and foam padding on the back of the knuckles: a barrier against impacts, without a hard shell that would hinder clenching your fist.
The fit
- Pre-curved construction
- Contoured and tapered wrist
- Pull loop and carabiner loop
Breathable, quick-drying, and moisture-wicking. This is the glove to choose when dexterity matters as much as thermal protection.
