ESS CrossBlade Naro Nosepiece

Despite its name, this nose piece is not exclusively for NARO lenses. The manufacturer states it is compatible with CrossBlade Standard and NARO lenses - and it comes in a standard size.

What it is NOT compatible with

An important point, explicitly stated in the technical sheet: it is not suitable for ICE series, Crossbow lenses, or Crosshair lenses.

This is counter-intuitive, as CrossBlade lenses themselves can be mounted on Crossbow and Crosshair frames. The nose piece, however, does not follow suit.

Why replace a nose piece

It is the part in permanent contact with the skin: it absorbs sweat, sun creams, and friction. It deforms and loses its grip long before the lens gets scratched.

A worn-out nose piece means glasses that slip - and glasses that slip end up pushed up onto the forehead, thus useless.

The adjustment

The geometry aims for a wide adjustment range, to distribute pressure and avoid pressure points on the bridge of the nose.
