ESS Credence Smoke Grey

The most affordable Credence in the range. Same gray smoked lens and same widened geometry as the black frame version, on a Tan frame.

A frame for wide faces

The manufacturer explicitly designs this geometry for individuals above average size. The widened temples close off peripheral protection instead of leaving a gap on the sides, where a standard frame would compress the temples and slip.

The temple tips are thin: fewer contact points under a cap, hat, or helmet.

Ballistic protection that goes unnoticed

Ordinary sunglass silhouette, discreet logo. You get ballistic-rated protection in an item that can be worn daily without revealing what it is.

The gray smoked lens

A neutral gray: it reduces brightness without shifting colors. Colors are still perceived accurately, and reflections are softened.

Lens manufacturing

Unbreakable polycarbonate extruded, cut, then thermoformed, covered with a hard anti-scratch and anti-reflective coating. The widened lens increases the useful field of view.

The four Credence models

Smoke Gray, Tan frame - the entry-level.
Smoke Gray, Black frame - same lens, black frame.
Mirrored Copper, Grey frame - mirrored copper lens.
Polarized Mirror Green, Carbon frame - the only polarized lens in the range.

Please note when comparing: two references share the same lens name and are only distinguished by the frame color.
