ESS Credence Polarized Mirror Green
The only Credence with a polarized lens. And polarization doesn't do the same thing as a tint: it doesn't reduce light, it removes a specific part of it.
What polarization removes
Light reflected from a flat surface - water, glass, hood, wet road - is polarized. A polarizing filter removes it without affecting the rest of the scene: the white veil disappears, and what was behind it becomes visible again.
A tinted lens, on the other hand, darkens the reflection and the target in the same proportions - the contrast does not improve.
The green mirror
The mirror finish reflects part of the light before it enters the lens. The green tint absorbs the spectrum uniformly, which preserves color perception.
A frame for wide faces
The manufacturer explicitly designs this geometry for above-average builds. The widened temples close the peripheral protection instead of leaving a gap at the sides, where a standard frame would compress the temples and slip.
The temple tips are thin: fewer contact points under a cap, hat, or helmet.
The four Credence models
Smoke Gray, Tan frame - the entry-level model.
Smoke Gray, Black frame - same lens, black frame.
Mirrored Copper, Grey frame - mirrored copper lens.
Polarized Mirror Green, Carbon frame - the only polarized lens in the range.
Be careful when comparing: two references share the same lens name and are only distinguished by the frame color.
Standard declared by the manufacturer
Lenses classified as ballistic according to ANSI Z87.1-2020, with 100% UVA and UVB filtration and optical clarity without distortion.
