ESS
ESS Credence Mirrored Copper
A copper lens with a mirrored finish. Two treatments that act at different points: the tint filters, the mirror reflects.
What the mirror adds
The mirror treatment reflects part of the incident light before it enters the lens. Filtering therefore occurs in two stages - one part reflected on the surface, the rest absorbed by the tint - rather than being entirely supported by the mass of the glass.
Useful side effect: from the outside, the eyes are not visible.
The copper tint
Optimized light transmission, homogeneous spectrum absorption for accurate color perception, and reduced reflections.
A frame for wide faces
The manufacturer explicitly designs this geometry for individuals above average size. The widened temples close the peripheral protection instead of leaving a gap on the sides, where a standard frame compresses the temples and slips.
The temple tips are thin: fewer contact points under a cap, hat, or helmet.
Lens manufacturing
Unbreakable polycarbonate extruded, cut, then thermoformed, coated with a hard anti-scratch and anti-reflective treatment. Widened lens for an increased field of vision.
The four Credence models
Smoke Gray, Tan frame - the entry-level model.
Smoke Gray, Black frame - same lens, black frame.
Mirrored Copper, Grey frame - mirrored copper lens.
Polarized Mirror Green, Carbon frame - the only polarized lens in the range.
Be careful when comparing: two references bear the same lens name and are distinguished only by the color of the frame.
Standards declared by the manufacturer
Lenses classified as ballistic according to MIL-PRF-32432 and ANSI Z87.1-2015, 100% UVA and UVB filtration.
