ESS CDI Tactical Clear / Smoke / Copper
The most complete kit in the CDI range. Three lenses, including one polarized, whereas other configurations offer one or two.
The three lenses
Clear - for night, indoors, under cover. Protection without loss of brightness.
Smoke Gray - for full daylight. A neutral gray that doesn't shift colors.
Polarized Copper Mirror - the technical lens of the kit, detailed below.
What the third lens really offers
It combines three treatments. Polarization cuts reflected light from flat surfaces - water, glass, car hoods, wet roads - without darkening the rest of the scene. The mirror coating reflects some of the light before it enters the lens. The warm copper tint retains more separation in greens and browns than a neutral gray.
This lens justifies the price difference with the two-lens kit: purchased alone, a polarized lens costs a good portion of the difference.
The Matte Black frame
Matte black, no reflection.
The lateral exchange system
Lenses can be changed from the side, without tools. This has defined the CDI since its origin: you adapt the tint to the light conditions of the moment instead of changing glasses.
SmartTension hinged temples
A cam hinge adjusts the tension of the temples: you adapt the fit to the shape of your head instead of enduring a single tension.
What stays put when you sweat
Temples and nose bridge made of non-slip rubber, which maintains its grip even when wet. This is what makes the difference between wearing your glasses and having to push them back up.
The frame
Nylon, extremely lightweight and virtually indestructible. Medium fit.
The lenses
High-strength 2.2 mm polycarbonate, interchangeable, distortion-free optics, 100% UVA and UVB filtration, ToughZone anti-scratch coating.
Please note: ToughZone is a durability treatment, not an anti-fog. For anti-fog, refer to the Crossbow range and its ClearZone FlowCoat.

CDI, Black frame - clear, smoke, or Hi-Def yellow lenses available.

The same frame and mechanism for all: the price is determined by the number of lenses, the tint, and the frame color.
Standard declared by the manufacturer
The manufacturer advertises high-resistance lenses with US military specifications, without citing a specific standard number for the CDI range.
