ESS
ESS CDI Smoke Gray
The Entry into the CDI Range. A smoke gray lens, a matte olive frame, and all the series mechanics - this is the most direct configuration.
The Smoke Gray Lens
A neutral gray: it reduces brightness without shifting hues. Colors are still perceived at their true value. This is the daytime tint, covering the widest range of situations.
The Matte Olive Frame
Matte finish, olive tint. It matches green-brown outfits where black would stand out. It is the only olive frame in the CDI range.
The Lateral Exchange System
Lenses are changed from the side, without tools. This is what has defined the CDI since its inception: you adapt the tint to the ambient light instead of changing glasses.
SmartTension Hinged Temples
A cam hinge adjusts the tension of the temples: you adapt the fit to the shape of your head instead of having a single tension.
What Stays On When You Sweat
Temples and nose bridge made of non-slip rubber, which maintains its grip even when wet. This is what makes the difference between wearing your glasses and pushing them up.
The Frame
Nylon, extremely lightweight and virtually indestructible. Medium fit.
The Lenses
High-strength 2.2 mm polycarbonate, interchangeable, distortion-free optics, 100% UVA and UVB filtration, ToughZone anti-scratch coating.
Note: ToughZone is a durability treatment, not an anti-fog. For anti-fog, it's the Crossbow range and its ClearZone FlowCoat.
The Entire CDI Range
Smoke Gray, Matte Olive frame - 1 lens, the entry-level.
CDI, Black frame - clear, smoke, or yellow Hi-Def lenses available.
Clear / Smoke Gray, Terrain Tan frame - 2 lenses.
Polarized Blue Mirror, Matte Black frame - 1 polarized lens.
Polarized Grey, Matte Black frame - 1 polarized lens.
Tactical Clear / Smoke / Copper, Matte Black frame - 3 lenses.
Same frame and same mechanics for all: the number of lenses, the tint, and the frame color determine the price.
Standard Declared by the Manufacturer
The manufacturer advertises high-strength lenses with American military specifications, without citing a standard number for the CDI range.
