ESS
ESS Clear / Smoke Gray CDI
Two lenses, two times of day. Clear for night and indoors, smoke gray for full daylight – with side-change, no tools required.
Why these two tints first
This pair covers the essentials. The clear lens protects without altering the scene: it's the one to keep when light is low. The smoke gray is a neutral gray that reduces brightness without color shifting.
Between the two, you're covered from sunrise to sunset. The third tint, when it comes, is for specific uses.
The Terrain Tan frame
A tan that blends into light, dry environments, where black would create a point of contrast on the face.
The side-exchange system
Lenses can be changed from the side, without tools. This is what has defined the CDI from the beginning: you adapt the tint to the current light instead of changing glasses.
SmartTension hinged temples
A cam hinge adjusts the tension of the temples: you adapt the tightness to the shape of the skull instead of experiencing a single tension.
What stays put when you sweat
Temples and nose bridge in non-slip rubber, whose grip is maintained even when wet. This is what makes the difference between wearing your glasses and pushing them up.
The frame
Nylon, extremely lightweight and virtually indestructible. Medium fit.
The lenses
High-impact 2.2 mm polycarbonate, interchangeable, distortion-free optics, 100% UVA and UVB filtration, ToughZone anti-scratch coating.
Note: ToughZone is a durability treatment, not an anti-fog. For anti-fog, see the Crossbow range and its ClearZone FlowCoat.
