Earmor K01 Kids Hearing Protection NRR23
A child's hearing is damaged at the same levels as an adult's, but on a smaller head. The K01 is designed for this constraint: a shell that truly encloses a child's ear.
What the protection does
Passive earmuffs - no electronics, no batteries. They provide a nominal attenuation of 23 dB (NRR 23 rating).
Twenty-three decibels less is the difference between painful noise and tolerable noise: air shows, fireworks, concerts, shooting ranges, noisy sports arenas.
The shape of the cushions
The padded cushions have a specific shape, designed to completely surround a child's ear. This is what separates real children's earmuffs from a shrunken adult model: if the shell rests on the ear instead of surrounding it, the attenuation drops significantly.
Comfort
The headband is lined with soft foam to prevent irritation on the top of the head—the point where a child starts to complain after twenty minutes, and where they eventually take the headset off.
Materials
Headband and ear cups in ABS polymer.
The NRR rating is a laboratory-measured value for correctly positioned equipment. An ill-fitting ear cup or poorly inserted earplug provides significantly less protection.
