D3O
D3O P12 Knee Pad
They remain flexible as long as you don't drop to your knee suddenly. That is the promise of D3O, and it is based on a physical property, not padding.
The principle
The polymer mimics a non-Newtonian fluid: its viscosity varies with the applied force. While walking, it bends with your leg. Upon impact, it instantly stiffens to absorb the shock and dampen the trauma.
This is what allows you to keep knee pads in place all day without feeling like you're strapped in.
TriVent ventilation
Triangular perforations, which increase airflow and heat exchange. The knee is where heat accumulates the most when crouching: this is where the ventilation is noticeable.
The P12 is therefore the model to choose for hot climates.
The design
Anatomical element, injection-molded and low-profile. It fits into the designated pockets of trouser legs.
Compatibility
Its shape and flexibility make it compatible with the pockets of many brands and models of tactical pants. Checking the dimensions is still recommended.
Thermal stability
The material functions normally over a wide range of temperatures - it does not harden in the cold like some foams.
Field-proven by military personnel in combat conditions.
