D3O
D3O P12 Elbow Pad
A flexible material as long as you don't strike it. That is the principle behind D3O protectors, and it is what distinguishes them from a rigid foam plate.
What a non-Newtonian polymer is
An ordinary fluid always has the same viscosity. A non-Newtonian fluid does not: its viscosity depends on the force applied. At rest, the protector flexes with your arm; under impact, the molecules instantly lock together and the material stiffens to absorb the impact.
The result: you wear a flexible elbow pad all day, and it acts like a hard shell the moment you fall.
TriVent ventilation
This is the unique feature of the P12: triangular perforations that increase airflow and heat exchange. For a protector pressed against your arm for hours, sweat is the real reason for abandonment.
This is what makes the P12 particularly suitable for hot climates.
Low profile
The element is thin and anatomical, injection-molded. It slides into the designated sleeve pockets and creates no visible bump under the jacket.
Compatibility
Its engineered shape and flexibility allow it to fit into the pockets of many brands and models of tactical tops. However, please check the dimensions of your garment's pockets.
Resistance to cold and heat
The material is temperature-stable: it retains its properties over a wide climatic range, whereas some foams harden in the cold.
