Clawgear Vienna Shield Patch

Vienna is both a city and a federal state. This is the only such case in the country, and it's what makes this patch different from the other eight in the series: it designates a capital as much as a region.

What this means for the wearer

A regional patch indicates where one comes from; this one also indicates where one is. In the other eight Länder, the covered area is measured in thousands of square kilometers – here, it fits within an urban agglomeration.

An urban coat of arms, not a territorial coat of arms

Vienna's coat of arms is based on a simple and highly contrasted design. In a reduced format, simplicity is an advantage: fewer elements to maintain, thus a clean rendering in all three colors, including monochrome where a busy coat of arms would lose its legibility.

At €6.90: Carinthia, Lower Austria, Styria, Tyrol, Vorarlberg.
At €7.90: Burgenland, Upper Austria, Salzburg and Vienna (this one).
