The sides are elastic. This allows a single pouch to hold radios of different sizes, instead of requiring a specific model.

How it adapts

The sides are made of durable elastic webbing. They stretch around the radio and grip it along its entire height. A narrow radio is held as firmly as a thick radio - there is no play to compensate for.

The top loop

An adjustable elastic cord loop, secured with Velcro, goes over the top of the radio. This is the safety feature that prevents the device from falling out during rapid movement, vehicle travel, or when on the ground. It's adjustable because a short antenna and a long antenna don't block at the same point.

A pouch, not just for the radio

With this format and elasticity, it also accommodates a compact GPS, a pocket multimeter, or a bulky flashlight. The retention comes from tension, not shape.
