Clawgear
Clawgear Merino Seamless Bottom
The layer that touches the skin, and that you forget about once it's on. The Merino Seamless Bottom is a three-quarter length pair of long johns made from circular knit, designed so that no seams rub where equipment presses.
Merino and nylon: why both?
Each fiber compensates for the other's shortcomings. Merino wool warms, naturally resists odors, and wicks away moisture without giving that cold, wet feeling. Nylon dries quickly and withstands abrasion. Clawgear wraps the nylon thread around a core of merino fibers: the wool remains in contact with the skin, while the nylon protects the outside of the thread.
Seamless construction
Circular knit with elastane, four-way stretch: the garment conforms to the body's shape instead of restricting it. Only the inner crotch seams remain; the sides are seamless. The remaining seams are flat, four-needle, with a filling thread inside.
A rare detail: all care and composition information is knitted into the fabric. No internal labels, so no itching in the lower back.
Body Mapping
Different knit structures are placed according to body zones: more breathable where you heat up, slightly compressive where support is needed. This is not visible to the eye, but felt over time.
Why three-quarter length?
The leg hem stops above the boot shaft. The elastic therefore does not bunch up under the liner, where a full-length base layer would create a fold that eventually causes discomfort.
