The cost of this lightness

Let's be clear about the trade-off: a 56g belt doesn't have the rigidity of a combat belt. The ELB is not designed to suspend a loaded holster or plate carrier. It's designed to hold up trousers all day without you feeling it, and to accommodate one or two lightweight pouches along the way.

The hidden adjustment

The size adjustment is made inside the belt. This means the outer face remains clean and uniform along its entire length, with no excess webbing hanging down or layers stacking up at the buckle. A detail that matters when the belt is worn under a fitted jacket.

Curved, not straight

The anatomical cut follows the shape of the waist instead of constricting it. On a day's walk with a backpack whose hip belt presses against it, the difference is noticeable.
