Clawgear
Clawgear CR123 Lithium 3V
Three volts, 1400 mAh, lithium chemistry. This is the power format for tactical flashlights and demanding electronics - and it is not interchangeable with a regular alkaline battery.
Why lithium here
A tactical flashlight draws a lot of current at once. Under this demand, an alkaline battery's voltage drops and the light dims before the battery is truly dead. A lithium battery holds its voltage much longer under heavy load: the light stays at full power until the end, instead of gradually dimming.
Cold and storage
This is the second argument for lithium, and it directly concerns outdoor use: lithium chemistry tolerates low temperatures much better than alkaline, and can be stored for years without self-discharging. A CR123 left in reserve in a bag will still be usable long after being put there.
Two usage precautions
Do not mix a new battery and an already used battery in the same device: the weaker one discharges faster and the imbalance damages both.
Observe polarity during reassembly. In a device with several cells in series, an inverted battery can damage the electronics.
