A tarp replaces a tent when you are willing to sleep facing the landscape. This one measures 2m by 2.50m and weighs 450 grams, including the carrying bag: that is the weight of a full water bottle for a complete shelter. The 72 g/m² polyester stops rain and blocks wind; under the sun, it creates a shaded area and limits heating caused by UV rays. The 19 anchor points are the deciding factor: with this many, you are no longer limited to an A-frame setup; you can pitch a wing shelter, a lean-to, or a half-teepee, depending on the day's wind and the available trees. All that's missing is paracord and stakes, to be purchased separately.
