AKU
AKU Selvatica Tactical Mid GTX
A low-profile trekking shoe that still reaches the ankle. This is the compromise of the Selvatica Mid: the support of a high-top without the rigidity of a mountaineering boot.
The membrane
Gore-Tex. It provides waterproofing and moisture wicking - that is what the GTX in the name denotes, and it is what sets it apart from the Spider II in the catalog.
Breathability
AIR8000 textile, rated by AKU as having eleven times the breathability of comparable textiles, with a polyurethane film heat treatment that improves durability and limits moisture absorption. Combining a highly breathable textile with a membrane is what prevents the foot from overheating.
The sole
Vibram Selvatica Megagrip, injected into a rubber with balanced grip. The Megagrip compound is the one Vibram designates for wet surfaces - damp rock, roots, greasy ground.
The Elica Natural Stride system gives the sole an anatomical shape that mirrors that of the foot.
Cushioning
Injected EVA midsole and IMS2 technology, which strengthens the connection between the sole and the midsole to absorb shocks and stabilize the foot over time.
OrthoLite insoles.
Lacing
Redesigned quick-lacing system, reinforced eyelets.
Matte, non-reflective colors. Spring, summer, autumn, on varied terrain.
