AKU
AKU Selvatica Tactical GTX
The Selvatica in a low-cut version. The same technology as the Mid, with an ankle-height upper: lighter, more freedom of movement, less lateral support.
Low-cut: what changes
A low-cut shoe allows the ankle to move freely and weighs less. In return, it offers no lateral support and does not protect against pebbles getting in from the top. It is a good choice for trails and rolling terrain, less so for scree slopes.
The membrane
Gore-Tex: waterproofing and moisture wicking.
Breathability
AKU's AIR8000 textile, claimed to be eleven times more breathable than comparable fabrics, with a polyurethane film heat treatment for durability and moisture resistance.
The sole
Vibram Selvatica Megagrip, injected rubber with balanced grip, designed for traction on wet surfaces. Elica Natural Stride System: anatomical sole, modeled on the actual shape of the foot.
Cushioning
Injected EVA in the midsole, IMS2 technology for the sole-to-midsole connection, and OrthoLite insoles.
Lacing
Redesigned quick-lacing system with reinforced eyelets.
Matte, non-reflective colors. The Selvatica Tactical Mid GTX version in the catalog features the same equipment on a high-cut upper.
