Fällkniven Collection - Swedish Survival Knives
Fällkniven was founded in 1984 in Boden, in northern Sweden, by Peter Hjortberger. Initially a knife importer, the company began designing its own models in 1987. That same year, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration asked it to develop a survival knife for Air Force pilots.
This request led to the F1, which has been supplied since 1995. It has since been the official survival knife of Swedish Air Force pilots. In 1999, Fällkniven was appointed supplier to the Swedish Royal Court. Since 2009, the company has been run by the founder's son, Eric Hjortberger.
The brand has made a name for itself with its laminated blades: a hard steel core sandwiched between two tougher layers, creating a long-lasting edge while reducing the risk of breakage. Depending on the model, you'll find VG10, 3G steel, laminated CoS, and Elmax, often with a convex edge that withstands heavy-duty use.
At Outpost, you'll find the F1 family (F1 Pro, F1 XB, F1X, F1 Next Generation), the S1 Forest Knife, the large A1 and A2 Expedition knives, the Tre Kronor range in 3G steel, the Pro Hunter, the Thor, and the Modern Bowie. For folding knives, the PXL, U2, U4 Bear Claw, and Gentleman Pocket. The collection also includes diamond and ceramic sharpening stones, DC3, DC4, and DC521, as well as the Diatilt for convex edges.
