Atwood Rope Collection - paracord and technical cords

Atwood Rope MFG is an American rope manufacturer that has become the gold standard for paracord among bivouac enthusiasts. Its range reads like a load-bearing scale: you choose the diameter based on what you are hanging, not on the color.

The 550 paracord is the standard, a braided sheath over seven inner strands that can be extracted for sewing, fishing, or repairs. The 275 steps down a notch in diameter and load, ideal for light guy-lines and pack attachments. The Micro Cord, at 1.18 mm, and the even thinner Nano Cord, are used where paracord is too bulky: cable ties, lanyards, tarp setups, and precision repairs.

Two variants are worth noting. The Micro Reflective features an integrated reflective thread that bounces back the light from a headlamp: a tarp guy-line stops being a trap for your shins. The Micro Uber Glow is photoluminescent and can be spotted on its own in the dark after exposure to light.

All of them can be cut and cleanly fused with a lighter, braided into bracelets, handles, and straps, and stored on spools of 30 meters or more. It is the type of consumable you only buy once a year but use every week.
